STUDENTS

Do you what to be a Cheerleader?:
If you are planning to attend Madison High School or Clairemont High School next year you can pick up a flyer in the Main Office if you would like to try out for their cheerleading squads.

8th Grade T-Shirts:
Order forms are available in the Main Office to order your CPMA 8th Grade T-shirt or sweatshirt.

From Ms. Celedon:
AVID application deadline will be extended to Friday April, 25th.
If you dream of going to college but need help to make it happen AVID is the elective for you. Each year AVID students visit SDSU and UCSD. We are looking for students that are dedicated to improving their grades and/or citizenship.
Stop by Room 101 and ask Ms. Celedon for an application today!

Student Suspensions:
It is very important to follow the school rules to avoid getting suspended. Suspensions will affect your participation in end of the year activities for all grade levels. Review your planner to make sure you understand the CPMA Middle School policies.

From Mr. Rubin:
The Madison High PTSA is hosting a workshop for students (grades 7-12) and their families about alcohol, prescription drugs and marijuana on Saturday, May 3, 9 am to 1 pm, in the Madison gym. Childcare and translation services will be available, in addition to refreshments and lunch. Families can also win a $50 gift card to Costco and other door prizes. I thought your students may be interested in participating with their families. We have capacity for 150 people, so it is important that families RSVP in advance, particularly since we will be providing lunch. We would especially like to have 7 and 8th grade families participate, since this is a time when students and families become more exposed to these issues at home, in school and in the community. The day will include guest speakers and facilitated table discussions about what we can do in our homes, our school and our community to address these concerns. I am attaching a flier in English and Spanish. I hope to have students and families from CPMA here to participate.

From Ms. Schroeder
Have you ever thought about being a Special Ed. Teacher? Come to advisory in room 306 for just 6 weeks and meet an Educational Specialist and her students. She can help you answer questions you might have about jobs in Special Education and schooling requirements. Also, you can be a helper with the students by reading to them, playing music for them, etc. If you are interested, please come by room 306 and talk with Mrs. Schroeder.

Yearbook Sales:
The price of the year book is now $50.00. Even though the price has increased the yearbooks sell out every year. Make sure you get one ordered before they are all sold.
Please see Ms. Lowery in the Financial Office or Mrs. Nolan in the Main Office.
